Final Sale Items & Services

Due to the unique nature of many items sold by The Hidden Bazaar, certain purchases are considered final sale and are not eligible for returns, refunds, or exchanges, except where required by applicable law or where an item is received damaged or materially different from what was ordered.

Minerals, Stones, Treasures & Artifacts

All minerals, crystals, stones, fossils, specimens, treasures, artifacts, curiosities, and other one-of-a-kind or naturally occurring items are final sale.

Natural materials are inherently unique. Variations in color, texture, shape, inclusions, fractures, mineral patterns, surface characteristics, and other natural features are part of the individuality of each piece and are not considered defects.

Many of these items are one-of-one specimens or limited pieces that cannot simply be replaced with an identical item. We photograph and describe our pieces as accurately as possible so customers can understand what they are purchasing before completing their order.

For these reasons, we do not accept returns based on natural characteristics, personal preference, size expectations, color variation caused by screens or lighting, or a change of mind after purchase.

Lapidary Services

All lapidary services are also final sale and non-refundable once work has begun.

Lapidary work involves permanently altering natural material through cutting, trimming, grinding, shaping, drilling, polishing, cabochon creation, restoration, or other processes. Once a stone has been cut or worked, it cannot be returned to its original condition.

Natural stone can also contain hidden fractures, inclusions, internal stresses, cavities, changes in hardness, or other characteristics that may not be visible before work begins. These natural conditions can occasionally cause cracking, breaking, chipping, color changes, or other unexpected results during cutting or polishing.

While we handle every piece with care and use professional techniques, The Hidden Bazaar cannot guarantee the final appearance or structural behavior of natural material during lapidary work.

Payment for lapidary services covers the time, labor, equipment use, consumables, and expertise involved in performing the requested work. Because those resources cannot be recovered after work begins, completed or partially completed lapidary services are not refundable.

Damaged or Incorrect Orders

If you receive the wrong item or an item is damaged during shipping, please contact The Hidden Bazaar promptly with photos of the item and packaging so we can review the situation and determine an appropriate resolution.

Our goal is to be transparent about the nature of the unusual, natural, handmade, and one-of-a-kind goods found throughout The Hidden Bazaar while protecting the time and craftsmanship involved in the services we provide.
