A distinctive 37-ounce fossil fish impression preserved on dark shale, featuring a delicate vertebrate fossil structure with visible body form, segmented elements, and fine mineralized detail across the slab.

The charcoal-black shale provides strong contrast against the pale fossil material, making the fossil easier to study and display. The natural slab preserves the surrounding sedimentary texture and additional fragmentary fossil details.

Based on visual examination, the primary fossil appears fish-like or vertebrate, although the exact species cannot be confirmed from photographs alone. A documented locality and professional comparative study would be required for genus-level identification.

Curated by The Hidden Bazaar for collectors of fossils, paleontology, natural history, and unusual geological specimens.
