Natural Comstock Lode Calcite & Quartz Crystal Cluster
Virginia City Mining District • Storey County, Nevada
A sculptural 5.1 oz collector specimen from Nevada’s historic Comstock Lode District, featuring several prominent milky-white crystal points rising from a dense crystalline matrix. The specimen has strong vertical architecture, broad crystal faces, and a compact hand-sized form with excellent display presence.
The crystal habit appears most consistent with calcite associated with quartz, a documented assemblage from the Comstock hydrothermal system. The Comstock mineralizing system formed during Middle Miocene hydrothermal activity, making a broad 10–15 million year age range appropriate for retail presentation.
