Natural Comstock Lode Calcite & Quartz Crystal Specimen
Virginia City Mining District • Storey County, Nevada

A sparkling 5.7 oz collector specimen from Nevada’s historic Comstock Lode District, featuring a dense coating of translucent to milky crystals across a natural matrix. The crystal habit appears most consistent with calcite associated with quartz, a well-documented mineral assemblage from the Comstock hydrothermal system.

The Comstock Lode formed during Middle Miocene hydrothermal activity. Geologic studies place the principal quartz-adularia ore-forming stage at roughly 12.5–13.7 million years ago, making a broader 10–15 million year age range appropriate for retail presentation.

Weight: 5.7 oz
Likely Minerals: Calcite with Quartz
Locality: Virginia City / Comstock Lode District, Storey County, Nevada, USA
Approximate Geological Age: 10–15 million years
Formation: Hydrothermal vein mineralization
Color: White, cream, translucent clear
Luster: Vitreous to pearly
Condition: Natural, unpolished collector specimen

Collector Appeal: Excellent drusy sparkle, layered crystal growth, and a sculptural matrix form from one of the most famous historic silver-gold mining districts in the American West.

Important: Although the Comstock district is famous for precious-metal mineralization, no silver or gold content is claimed for this individual specimen without analytical testing.

Metaphysical Tradition: Calcite is traditionally associated with cleansing, renewal, and energetic movement. Quartz is traditionally associated with clarity, focus, and amplification. These are spiritual or cultural beliefs and are not scientifically established properties.
