Natural Comstock Lode Calcite & Quartz Crystal Cluster
Virginia City Mining District • Storey County, Nevada
A richly crystallized 6.2 oz collector specimen from Nevada’s historic Comstock Lode District, featuring a dense carpet of translucent to milky white crystals over a contrasting natural matrix. The piece shows excellent sparkle, layered crystal growth, and numerous distinct crystal terminations across the display face.
The crystal habit appears most consistent with calcite associated with quartz, a documented assemblage from the Comstock hydrothermal system. The Comstock mineralizing system formed during Middle Miocene hydrothermal activity, making a broad 10–15 million year age range appropriate for retail presentation.
