A find from The Hidden Bazaar
Green Fluorite & Calcite Crystal Cluster | Mexico | 25.3 oz
$195.00
A substantial green fluorite and calcite crystal cluster from Mexico, with layered pale-green fluorite, translucent to clear calcite, and warm peach-tinted crystal accents across a natural reddish matrix. The contrasting colors and multiple display faces make this a strong cabinet-size collector specimen.
Minerals: Green fluorite with calcite, identified from visible crystal habit and cleavage; exact associated-mineral composition has not been laboratory confirmed.
Weight: 25.3 oz
Locality: Mexico.
Approximate geological age: 75+ million years old, based on supplied formation context. The exact age of this individual crystal pocket is not documented.
Geology: Fluorite and calcite commonly crystallize from mineral-rich hydrothermal fluids moving through fractures and cavities in host rock. The green coloration in fluorite is produced by natural trace-element and crystal-structure effects.
Care: Handle gently. Fluorite is relatively soft (Mohs 4) and calcite is softer still (Mohs 3); avoid impacts, prolonged sunlight, acids, water soaking, and harsh cleaning agents.
Metaphysical meaning: In crystal traditions, green fluorite is associated with clarity, renewal, and mental focus, while calcite is associated with motivation and energetic cleansing. These are spiritual beliefs and are not scientific or medical claims.
