Boulder Hill Mine Barite with Purple Fluorite Overgrowth
Wellington / Silver Glance Mining District • Lyon County, Nevada

A striking 5.9 oz collector specimen from the Boulder Hill Mine in Nevada’s Wellington / Silver Glance Mining District, featuring thick bladed-to-tabular translucent brown-gray barite crystals with localized violet-purple fluorite concentrated along crystal terminations and edges, plus sparkling secondary microcrystalline overgrowths.

This mineral pairing is well documented from Boulder Hill, where pale violet fluorite occurs directly on and between intergrown barite crystals. The specimen’s crystal habit, color zoning, and association are strongly consistent with that locality.

Hidden Bazaar Collector Rarity Index™: 8/10 – Very Rare
Confirmed Boulder Hill Mine provenance combined with the purple fluorite-on-barite association and strong display aesthetics makes this a notably collectible locality specimen.
This index reflects the collectibility of the individual specimen based on locality, crystal form, condition, visual character, mineral association, and market availability. It is not a scientific mineral-abundance scale.

Identification Note: Mineral identification is based on morphology, locality, and documented Boulder Hill mineral associations. No laboratory analysis has been performed on this individual specimen.

Metaphysical Tradition: Barite is traditionally associated with grounding, clarity, and dream work, while fluorite is associated with focus, organization, and energetic cleansing. These are cultural or spiritual beliefs and are not scientifically established properties.
