Madagascar Septarian Nodule with Druzy Calcite
A one-of-a-kind polished Madagascar septarian nodule opened to reveal a sparkling druzy calcite pocket. Its natural segmented banding of brown aragonite-rich material contrasts beautifully with yellow-to-clear calcite crystals and the smooth polished exterior.

- Locality: Madagascar
- Weight: 11.3 oz / 320 g
- Geological age: Approx. 60–100 million years old
- Form: Polished nodule with exposed natural crystal pocket
- Color: Yellow/clear calcite with brown-to-charcoal septarian banding
- Condition: Natural specimen, cut and polished to display the internal druzy pocket
- Treatment: Cut and polished; no dye reported

Septarian nodules form when sedimentary concretions shrink and fracture; mineral-rich groundwater later fills the openings with calcite and aragonite. The result is a natural record of cracking, mineral deposition, and time held inside a single stone.
Care: Dust gently with a soft brush or dry cloth. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, acids, and prolonged soaking, which may damage the exposed druzy crystals.
Metaphysical note: In crystal traditions, septarian is associated with grounding, patience, and steady confidence. These spiritual beliefs are not medical claims.
